Bus is another means of transport, and Orihuela is well linked by bus or coach to nearly all of Spain through a modern comfortable network of buses that normally take the scenic routes.
A coach or a bus is one of the best ways to get to our resort.
Orihuela has an Exchange station called the ?Estación Intermodal de Orihuela? for trains and buses; this has significantly increased the quality of the coach links, both on a regional and national level.
The new building is home to 5 regular bus lines and others that cover medium and long distance routes.
This way all the routes and stops that link Orihuela with the towns and regions around them, as well as with the important places and cities, are centralized.
Normally ALSA is the company that links Orihuela with all of the Spanish east coast, Andalucía and the centre of Spain.
In the municipality the buses are run by the local authority. Siguenza is the transport company that offers the buses that run in the centre of the town and to other small towns and villages nearby.
Since last summer they have put on a direct bus line that goes right from the capital of the municipality to the coast and to the nearby village of La Murada.
To get to Orihuela by bus from Alicante Airport (called El Altet), you need to take the C6 bus, that has an Alicante-Airport-Alicante route (the ticket costs one euro and there is a bus every 40 minutes), once in Alicante you will need to go to the bus station and there you can get a bus to Orihuela, there tends to be one every hour. The bus stops off in the towns of the Vega Baja del Segura region with the last stop being in Orihuela?s bus and train station.
At certain times of the day there are also buses to Orihuela from Alicante that are more direct with less stops on the way.
The same thing happens when coming from Murcia, buses leave the station every hour and stop of in various towns and villages on their way to Orihuela, but there is a direct service at certain hours.
In the bus/train station there are ticket booths with staff to give you information about the bus and train time tables, there are also automatic ticket machines and a tourist information desk. The station also offers lockers, restaurants, a rest area and boasts of private security.
Remember that, to book your bus ticket, as well as to catch a bus or buy a ticket, you must arrive at the station with time to avoid any unnecessary stress.
