If you need to consult any of the banks in Orihuela, outside of any of the services offered by the ATMs, it is important to note when these banks are open!

The banks in Orihuela work during the months of April to September with the opening hours between 9:00 to 9:30 am, normally closing from 13:30 to 14:00 from Monday to Friday. On weekends and holidays, the banks are normally closed, in and around the town of Orihuela and the district of Vega Baja. The same is true for the rest of Spain.

In the months of October to March,during winter, banks keep these standard opening hours, closing at the same time as in the previous months, although some such as BBVA open on Saturdays from 8:30 to 13:00 hrs , others also open on Thursday afternoon, such as the Caixa Bank or the Marenostrum Bank. There are also variations in those offices that offer most of their operations to companies, devoting two afternoons a week to opening. Typically these offices are situated in the industrial estates within the Municipality.

Either way, you can also use the large number of ATM machines at your disposal from the different banks in Orihuela. Currently almost all the operations you can perform in a bank can also be performed by the ATM, with only some actions needing 24 hours to clear, or simply when the bank office next opens so that the axtion can be sanctioned by a worked or manager.

Please note that using ATMs more often than not can lead to you being charged commissions. Although for those with foreign bank accounts will normally be charged regardless, if you have a spanish bank account it would be useful to note which ATM providers dont charge you. That extra little walk to an ATM which doesnt charge you comission could save you 4/5 euros!
